Fox and the City
I was just playing a few moments ago when I just happen to raise my sight from monitor to outside and what I saw… In the middle of the city there was a fox running through our yard! That was something that I didn’t expect to see. That was actually a first fox I have seen in the wild and it was beautiful animal. Too bad that it was so busy running away that I didn’t have a opportunity to take a photo
Have to hope that it wasn’t only visiting shortly but would come again someday; and this time I will be waiting with my camera… ![]()
Smells

I went today to local Arboretum to take some nice photos from plants and overall from the place. And of course because it is always nice to walk in the nature, or in this case, in the park. In the park there was a small cape where lead a path. And what was waiting for me in the cape… There was few huge trees of European Bird Cherry and that smell… I always forget during summer and winter how Bird Cherry smells but every time in this time of year I remember, it is so strong smell that it just can’t be missed. And luckily it is a good smell. ![]()
I have always liked to walk in the nature and in the park, specially in the middle of nowhere, in the real nature has always been a relaxing affect on me. And it is the best place to just to think about everything, for some reason I just manage to put my thoughts in the right perspective while I am in the nature, specially when I am near a lake. Well, it is just relaxing. And this time was no exception, I had in the morning feeling that I had again just too many thoughts and worries in my mind and I just had to left o photograph and walk in the park. And it was a little help, no, I didn’t miraculously solved all my problems and worries but I managed to get something in to order.
New toys…

A little update about my dear hobby, photographing. In April I came across a little bit too good offer and in the result I bought a new camera, Canon EOS 5D. And now I have been playing with it for over a month and I just like it. It is just a great camera, and so much better than my previous body, EOS 350D, naturally.
And specially in the macro shootings, I like when I can see something through finder. ![]()
And in Thursday I finally managed to upgrade my tele-zoom lens. I should have been upgrading it a long time ago, but luckily I haven’t, because a friend was selling his Sigma 70-200/2.8 lens and I got it with a nice price. And with Sigma’s 2x extender. And I have to admit this also, that is a wonderful lens also. Now I finally have a good tele that I can actually use to take some photos. And in Friday I got a really good reason why I bought this lens, the photo in this post, I don’t think that I could have managed to take that with any other lens (that I currently have).
About photoyear…
My little project, Photoyear, has been running for two weeks now. When I started I was a little bit worried if my motivation will be big enough to last over the whole project. Well, I still don’t know but after two weeks I have noticed that posting a new photo once a day have been much funnier than I thought. And also more difficult. Although I allowed myself to use archive photos, even from previous years, I still have a feeling all the time that I should be posting only photos that I have taken on that day. But unfortunately it hasn’t been possible, sometimes I just am way too busy to go and take photos and sometimes not all photos are so great that I would like to post them. And these was second problem I have encountered, for some reason I have a feeling that all photos I post should be better than earlier, something new, something what I haven’t taken before, something that I can call maybe even a piece of art.
But after all, after two weeks I already have noticed that this was a right choice to start, and I have noticed that I have started to see nature a little bit different, I’ll just think subconsciously where I could get a great photo. Well, we will see how long this motivation will last but I hope that it will be quite permanent.
University cat

On Friday when I was coming back to university I encountered a little problem, the door which I usually use to get in was blocked. University has to make a new agreement about security because in the door was a cat watching that no-one was going in… Or at least I decided that it was better to go inside from another door than trying to get past the cat, specially when it was sitting in the front of door so I wouldn’t been able to open the door even.
One photo, every day
Today I started a little project, one photo per day. I will be posting a one new photo every day for (at least) a year. I will try to post a new photo every day, meaning that it has been taken in that day or in the last week but because this is not always possible, I will also allow myself to use nice photos from my archives. But I promise that archive photos are only in the last resort.
One photo per day -project has its own blog, please see photos in here.
2 commentsSpring in the air

Today I noticed that it starts to feel like it is spring soon. Roads are getting free from snow. Again yes, not first time this year, no but this time feels different. Now the sun is melting all the snow, roads are full of slush and it is simply sunny, warm, spring like weather now. And today I was feeling like it is spring. I actually had a tough time to decide if I go to take photos by walking or just go to bicycle first time this year (and no, I don’t think that cycling to the work is cycling).
Second thing I noticed is that I have been taking too many photos from my neighborhood, I just seems to be hard to think something new and interesting out there. The nearby forest is boring, it is just too clean, simple and there is just nothing interesting for a photo. And it is really boring looking forest to take photos.
Maybe I just should cycle somewhere where is a little bit more interesting sceneries and stop to take photos there…
Ski track

One of the last photos from ski tracks with snow. I guess that snow will melt quite soon, also from ski tracks.
University at night

University looks a little bit scary at nights. When all the lights are off it is quite dark place. Doesn’t look like at all a familiar place like in the daytime.
