Weekend
One weekend at the end. Once again. But this time weekend has been quite nice and relaxing.
I spent these two days on summer cabin, first time in this year. I didn't even realized how I have missed spending some time close to nature, until I spent some time. It seems to be one of the best ways for me to relax. Just walking in the forest, listening sounds of nature and taking few hundred photos, it is just so different what I do on weeks. Spending all time in front of computer, you just need to take yourself sometimes to nature.
Small is big
Here I am, at the summer cabin. I spent few hours today, just walking in the forest with my camera, and took a lots of macro photos from nature. At least I tried.
I am still exploring a whole new world, where small things are bigger than they looks. Unfortunately, I did not found many insects so my macro shooting was limited to plants mostly. And that only ant that I found in forest was just moving too fast, so I did not get good photo.
Shooting in macro scale is much harder than you think at first. I found today, that depth of field is really something that you should think about when you take photos. Few nice photos were not perfect, just because DOF was only a small fraction of picture, i.e. only a small leaf of the flower. Well, I am still learning, and I learned today, how you don't get good macro photos 
Maybe next time I have learned something and came back from shooting trip with more successful photos.
One photo that I like and think as successful photo is just a small rock. But in photo, it looks quite big. So, small is sometimes big...

Macro world
I have been thinking about getting a good macro lens for a long time. Today I finally turned a thought to an action. I went to local store and left there with Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens and MR-14EX macro flash.
The new lens is just awesome. Its ability to take 1:1 photos is great. I haven't even know earlier what I have been missing. How much better macro photos I could get with a proper lens. Now I do.
I have already took some test photos and uploaded those in my gallery. And expect to see a lots of more shoots with this lens. My work to learn macro world has just began.
