Teaching

September 28th, 2006

So, it has been again a while. For some reason I am more than lazy to write here what has happened.
My summer job was finally over in the end of Autumn. After one year and three months the project was over, money was spent and my work was done. Next project was supposed to start in september but when september came I find out that that was not true. They was going to apply project-money in the middle of september and I still haven’t heard anything that funding is okay. I was promised that maybe a department could hire me as part-time to administrate our computer class system but when I started to ask more about it I just heard nothing. After all I got a good job-offer from JJ-Net Group Oy and it did not need a lot of thinking to accept only job-offer I got at that time. So there I am now, administrating systems and servers at JJ-Net Group Oy.

A good thing about changing job is that now I have less hours to do in a week so in theory I have more time to study. Last year was a little… well not success to my studies and at the moment I am a little behind of my schedule. My great idea to this autumn is trying to catch my studies. I have planned that I could get B.Sc before 2008. But that will left to see if I manage to study enough.

And finally to the subject. Couple weeks ago my old computer teacher contacted me and asked if I had a time to keep couple of her lessons. And luckily I had and I was able to go and try what teaching is like. I had kept course practices of our department lecture in Autumn 2005 but teaching in university is quite different from teaching in comprehensive school. I had to keep couple computer lessons and couple lessons of mathematics. For my great surprise, teaching in comprehensive school was quite fun. Well, teaching continues when I got another substitute teacher job next week, this time also mathematics but this time I also had to remember some chemistry. And teaching was still quite fun and interesting. I don’t think that I would became full-time teacher but sometimes doing some substitute teacher jobs is quite good option. And of course, as student all money I can get is always a good thing.

What comes to my studies, maybe most important thing of this autumn is my secondary subject studies. I still exploring what I would take as my secondary subject but at the moment I am sitting in biotechnology lecture and I have to admit that this is very interesting subject. This is most definitely one of my secondary subjects but still, anything is possible. Maybe it is best thing to do planning after I see how this exam goes.
