I like Tampere that in the area that currently holds small industrial and stores you can find old rails. It is always a great time to cycle there and think when was the last time there actually went a train. A quite a while I think because tracks was all rusty and in those place where rails crosses a street, no cars slowed down at all. And today I noticed sad thing, they were removing tracks from streets so no trains at all anymore. It looked like they are still going to keep rails elsewhere, but it is still only a matter of time until they are removed also, i think.
Old junction is growing trees nowadays, I think that train would have some problems to get through…
Old signal in the junction. These can’t be seen in the modern rails anymore which is a shame.
Old rail goes over a bridge and is still connected (probably) to the current rails.
And thats what tracks look at the moment next to street.

Great thing about summertime is that you are able to do something at nights also. Today was a first real warm summer day, it was quite warm to cycle fast in the sunshine. So somehow I didn’t had such a great motivation to go out in the evening when there was still too warm for a run. So I left after 11PM to make my run. It had its own feeling when it was almost dark already, street lights were on and it smelled like it had been rained. And it was cooler than in the day. After all, just a great environment for running. And my run did went well 
This spring has been quite different from others what comes to my running. Usually I get a lots of motivation to start running in the spring, but when it gets warmer and spring turns to summer, somehow I just stop running. But not this time, now I have been gone for a run couple times per week and managed to make my usual running trail even longer than I did in the begin. I still donät think I am a fast runner or that I am in a good shape (my runs are ~5km and takes a little bit over 33min), but if I keep running the whole summer, maybe in the autumn… Who knows…

One year ago (and one day) I decided to start a little project, I decided to post one photo every day. I had a small dream that I would even be able to take one photo every day but soon this was forgotten and I didn’t even post a photo every day. But in the end, last day of March I posted last photo for the project and now I have 365 different photos that most of are taken near the posting date (usually previous weekend). This project was actually really interesting. More about how project went is on that last entry in Photoyear blog. But now when I think about last year and watching those photos, it seems that it has been a long time ago. Somehow I barely remember my decision to start the project, it feels like it happened many, many years ago. Well, last year was quite interesting and quite much happened, but interesting still, because usually I just have feeling that time just goes really fast. But nice thing is that I am actually really proud most of the photos, I managed to pick really great photos (if you just see all those photos I rejected from that project 
). What project gave me, more inspiration to take photos, more motivation. I think that I am going to continue the project, but not as one photo per day, but still I am going to post more photos here than earlier. But only great photos

Since last post it has finally started to feel more and more like spring. Okey, yesterday it tried to snow a little bit but this time it was only trying to snow, just like it should do in spring
Streets are already dry and sun is starting to be really warm when it shines and it does a lot now. And finally, it has to be spring when yesterday I saw three porsches on streets and today one more.

At the moment weather here in Finland is a little bit weird, at least I feel so. Winter hasn’t been so great, a little bit snow but there has been no really cold days at all. And now we are living March which I think as a quite spring month already. I think and like that in March the sun should shine and it should already be nice and warm but with snow still in the ground. But what we have in this year? Snowfall after snowfall. It has been snowing more than in the real winter (i.e. in January or February). It looks more winter than in January. Just weird…

Happy new year to everyone! This year has been a little bit quieter what comes to my blog postings but hopefully it is going to change next year. At least I really should learn and start iPhone developing, it should been a subject that have a lots of blogging… But while waiting those posting, have a good time with a new year!

Everyone knows that last Friday, 11.7. was once again a historical day. Apple iPhone 3G selling started and luckily for me, also in Finland. Oh yes… I was signed up earlier when our operator was collecting name lists who are interested, I reserved phone as soon as it was possible and on last Friday I was 10am in the store and buying my iPhone. And now I am happy owner of black 16Gb model.
I have been playing it now for few days and I have to say that it is quite close to perfect phone. I have iPod Touch so there was no wow-effect anymore in the UI or operations, but iPhone has everything that Touch was missing, all the time connectivity. Touch was nice but its biggest problem is that it needs Wifi for working, with iPhone, I can access Internet anywhere I want.
But the iPhone mania doesn’t end here. Because we are now talking about me the next step was quite expected. In the weekend I was accepted as iPhone Developer (and had to paid for that) and now I am able to develop nice programs for iPhone, test them on the real devices and publish them to App Store (or even sell them). Now all I have to do is just finish my codings and actually make some programs

It is already in the middle of July and sooner than I can imagine, the studies is going to start again. And once again it is time to think what I am going to study… And once again I decide that this autumn is going to be different from earlier ones, this time I will study more and better…
Expect this time this autumn is really going to be totally different. In the end of last year I started to think about my studies and in the spring I really started to think what I would like to do, or better, what would be nice to do… So, how all that thinking ended? Well, I decided to apply for Computer Science in Tampere University of Technology and Scandinavian Languages in University of Tampere. I was accepted directly to Tampere University of Technology based on my success on matriculation exam and in the end of May I was taking apart of exams for Scandinavian Languages.
The results for TUT came already in the May (for paper selections) and I was accepted. But I was still waiting for my expected failure on UTA and last Friday I got results from there also. No, I wasn’t accepted, which was very expected, with that reading and with my luck (the whole exam was just multiple-choices…).
So, after all this I am going to start study on TUT in about a month I will still study interesting courses on UTA also, so this autumn is going to be, well interesting and quite full of studying.
Good question is why I applied for Scandinavian Languages? Well, to told the truth, I am not quite sure myself. I had that mandatory Swedish course in the spring and that was very interesting so I thought that it would be nice to read some more. And… Why not? Well, I don’t have that problem anymore, expect I am still going to try to have rights to read Scandinavian Languages as my secondary subject but there is again an exam that I should pass… And I think that this time I should maybe read a little bit better…

It has been a while since I have been last playing but this week I got a new sparkle. I don’t know why I haven’t played more this year, I just guess that I felt that I have no time, that I had something better things to do… And of course, playing has always been very varying for me, sometimes I do nothing but play and sometimes I have a long time that I don’t play anything.
But on Wednesday I decided to put my playing to the next level… I have been dreaming on purchasing racing wheel for my Xbox 360 for a while and now I finally decided and bought it. And the gaming begins… again And it didn’t took a long time to remember why I liked playing on earlier so much. Specially racing games. It is actually very relaxing when you have no choice but concentrate on driving. All your thoughts are nothing but driving, all you think is just when you need to brake, how you are going to get past the car in front of you etc… And the racing wheel makes it all just a little bit better, the gaming experience is just something great. It almost feels like you are driving a real car…

I was just playing a few moments ago when I just happen to raise my sight from monitor to outside and what I saw… In the middle of the city there was a fox running through our yard! That was something that I didn’t expect to see. That was actually a first fox I have seen in the wild and it was beautiful animal. Too bad that it was so busy running away that I didn’t have a opportunity to take a photo 
Have to hope that it wasn’t only visiting shortly but would come again someday; and this time I will be waiting with my camera…
