At Seoul

My first day at Seoul starts to turn toward its end. My plane landed at 11am, which I think that I am not feeling that I have jet lag or anything. I just feel tired which is caused more the fact that I haven’t slept enough nor well during two last days, but who knows. Anyway I am planning to go to sleep after writing this update…

Getting through Incheon airport was nice experience, little bit walking from arrival gate, then shuttle train to arrival hall, passport checking was maybe even faster than in Finland for Finnish citizen, customs declaration was even faster than passport (of course as I just handed form that I have nothing to declare). After getting baggage my buddy was already waiting, so trip to my dorm was easily done. At airport it was nice that it was not full of security checks as it was in Amman, there really is no point of checking everything from people who comes from plane, if they are not allowed to take anything dangerous to plane, where would they got it in between and why would they got it…

My first day has been quite much just settling down to dorm, signing some papers, registering to courses. That’s pretty much what my buddy helped me to do. When I was about to collect my box from another house where exchange student from UTA from spring semester had left it, then she needed to rush another place and I had some difficulties to explain to guard what I wanted. Luckily he called to international office and person there came to help me, and I got my box full of all stuff that I am going to need more or less. After that just unpacking my stuff and then wondering what to do next.

I have no idea about other exchange students, haven’t seen then at all, no idea who they are, where they are going, or what so ever. However I decided just taking my camera and walked around neighborhood and accidentally ended up to university’s campus. Found beautiful waterfall/river which was lighten up by LEDs that displayed rainbow colors. It was peaceful and beautiful. Then I noticed that there was some music and of course I followed the sound. I ended up to see a group of students to practicing traditional Korean music and dances and I found out that on Saturday there is festival to where I was invited. So just wondering around seems to be quite good option :D

I always end up places with weird wiring

  1. Hi,

nice to hear your trip went well and no problems with schedules or something else. It’s very exciting to start in a new place and wondering around in a new place is wonderful, and soon you’ll notice you’re settled in your new neigbourhood. Waiting for your new posts and pictures, it’s nice to follow them from your website.
